E: Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom, if so, what
Historically, I guess so? The cracky things I make I don’t really make in a cracky spirit—I am not that good at being funny, so even when I decide to write some ridiculous trope, I approach it from a serious-ish perspective. And there are times when people have referred to pairings I shipped as crack ships and it seriously gives me this knee-jerk reaction like, where do you get off calling my ships cracky, I ship humans from the same show so fuck you.
Weird fanworks I have produced, though. I wrote tentacle porn for Glee, initially as a response to people disparaging the trope/kink/whatever you want to call it, because again, I fucking hate kink shaming and people who see a prompt and decide it could NEVER WORK, like, people, it’s all about execution, you’re so close-minded, GOD. I don’t actually like tentacle porn, in theory, but it was really fun to write, so go team me. Later on I wrote sex pollen. And the first thing I wrote for that fandom was a Sky High fusion. Good times.
Other relatively ‘strange’ things I’ve written: demon hunters/werewolf fic for Whip It, vampire slayer fic for Pretty Little Liars, gunplay for The Good Wife, tons of semi-kinky porn for The Vampire Diaries. In terms of pairings: Britta/Slater, Alexis/Beckett, Spencer/Melissa, that one time I wrote Spencer/A dub-con, Ashley/Ruby? I like to think I singlehandedly willed Wild Child fandom into existence. Oh, god, when I was in American Idol I wrote Kara DioGuardi a bunch of times and it was super fun. There’s Alaric/Bonnie porn here. (I’m going through my ao3.) Emma Stone/Taylor Swift, but that was a ficlet. I feel responsible for what little Cary/Alicia fic exists too, I am not going to lie. I totally caused Irene/Sally fic for BBC Sherlock to exist before they even had an Irene. I enjoy me.
Z: Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go
I think I’m going to save this for LJ, or, not save it, but I want to talk about The Voice and I REALLY need to post, so I’m going to do that. FANDOM IS SO MUCH WORK. I guess that counts as rambling about something fan-related, dude, I am behind on EVERYTHING. Like TV, but also photoshopping for the TV I HAVE seen! I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I half blame the fact that I started picspamming things last year and now I’m not willing to quit my episodic picspams until the end of various seasons for my being behind on everything. I am so not doing that next year. At least not for as many shows, or regularly, or, yeah. I’m going to bury myself in like, two-cap edits instead.
