Midnight in Paris, written and directed by three time Academy Award winner Woody Allen (Annie Hall, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger, Hollywood Ending, Vicky Christina Barcelona). Starring Owen Wilson (Little Fockers, Wedding Crashers), Rachel McAdmas (Morning Glory, The Notebook), Michael Sheen (The Damned United, Frost/Nixon), Marion Cotillard (Inception, Public Enemise), Adrien Brody (Predators, King Kong), and Kathy Bates (Titanic, Misery).

This looks kind of terrible.

I just hope it will be pretty and not too annoying, mostly because I love Rachel McAdams and there’s usually something about Woody Allen’s films that I find comforting and pleasant, even when they’re not very good. (I haven’t felt this way about any of his movies since Scoop, though, which makes me sad.) I am so baffled by the movies that blurb singles out, though. You Will Meet a Tall, Dark Stranger? I mean, I guess that one (and Vicky Cristina Barcelona) has the recentness factor, but — Hollywood Ending? Really? Is there someone out there who’d see Woody Allen’s name, not know who it is, see Hollywood Ending, and be like, “Oh, of course, I remember that movie!”?
